Mildred Covington Forde

Mildred Covington James Forde, 92, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Scotia Village officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter and the Rev. Elizabeth Forester.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Richard Forde of San Diego, CA and Jack Dowling Forde (Kathy) of Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Zeda James Forde of Columbia.
Born December 18, 1918 in Laurinburg, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Albert W. and Mary Covington James and widow of the late Jack. D. Forde. She graduated from UNC- Greensboro and taught special education in the Hoke County and later Scotland county schools. Mildred was also a lifetime member of Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
