Max Eugene Harris

Max Eugene Harris, 72, passed away peacefully Friday, April 30, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his home located at 196 Hunters Gln, Troy, NC, officiated by Rev. Brantley Moore.  The family ask that you dress casually and come hungry.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please practice social distancing.

Max was born on May 24, 1948 in Montgomery County to the late James Frank and Lillie Hurley Harris. He was retired from Capel, Inc. as a Superintendent with 37 years of service. He loved motorcycles, the beach, fishing, playing cards, his family and friends, and having a good time. Max always put himself last so that everyone else would come first. He loved to watch his family play sports and attending their games. He always looked forward to the yearly family vacation to the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Judy Whitley Harris of the home; step-son, Ronnie King (Sharen) of Troy; sisters, Betty Jane Harris Fuller of Troy, and Kimberly Sue Harris Walker (Mickey) of Knightdale; brothers, Mitchell Harris (Debbie) of Liberty and James Hurley Harris (Priscilla) of Troy; grandchildren, Jennah King, Jacob Harris King, Wesley King, Cory King, Austin Freeman, and Madison Freeman;  and great-grandchildren, Nicholas King, E.J. Pollard, Raelyne King, Kaden King, Brady King, Lawson King, and Beckett King. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Francelle Freeman and son-in-law Doug Freeman. He is also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lisa King and his sister, Joyce Ann Harris Brown.
