Mason "May May" Allen Sanders, cherished son, brother, and grandson, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the tender age of eleven.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Troy First Baptist Church, with Rev. Tony Hancox officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy, as well as at the home at 215 High Meadow Lane, Mt. Gilead, NC 27306.
Born on August 18, 2014, in Stanly County, he is the son of Emily Ann Blevins and Dustin Daniel Hall of Mt. Gilead. Mason's vibrant spirit and joyful enthusiasm for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. From a young age, Mason's adventurous soul shone brightly. He found his greatest joys in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping alongside his dad. Mason's love for nature was matched only by his passion for all things mechanical. He could often be found riding or tinkering with any machine that had a motor, his face alight with focus and excitement.
Just two weeks ago, Mason experienced the ocean for the first time. His excitement was unmistakable, the wonder in his eyes reflecting the vast and endless sea. This cherished memory, like so many others, will be held dear by his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his biological mother, Ashley Sanders of West Virginia; sisters, Hailey Morse of Troy and Rilee Morse of Biscoe; maternal grandparents, Ken and Tina Henry of New London; and paternal grandparents, Joey and Tammy Haywood of Mt. Gilead; and numerous cousins.
