Mary Catherine (Shores) Tatum

Mrs. Mary Catherine Shores Tatum, 86, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Scottish Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at McDougald Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
Mary was born August 8, 1930 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Charles Hollis and Kate High Shores. She had worked in the Scotland County School System and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, doing arts and crafts, watching wrestling and the Tarheels.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Lynne Morgan of Laurinburg; sons, Edward Charles Tatum of Laurel Hill, Rick Tatum of Florence, SC; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Richard Tatum; daughter, Elizabeth “Tibby” Anne Tatum; brothers, Charles Shores and Ed Shores; sister, Rachel Hall; one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at McDougald Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. McDougald Funeral Home & Crematorium is serving the family.
