Mrs. Mary Kate Reece, 91, of East Laurinburg, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at her home.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Reece will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by Rev. Jeff McGirt. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Reece was born on April 9, 1917, in Cumberland County, daughter of the late John and Anna Ballard Trogdon.
Mrs. Reece was a dedicated member of the East Laurinburg Church of God and retired from Waverly Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband Medford Reece, Sr. in 1997.
Mrs. Reece leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Medford Reece, Jr. and wife, Betty of Laurinburg, Tommy Reece and wife, Jean of Laurel Hill, Billy "Bo" Reece of Laurinburg, and Harold Reece and wife, Rachel of Laurinburg; daughters, Mary Helen Griffin and husband, Wesley of Atlanta, TX, Joyce Jividen and husband, Guy of Fayetteville, and Dinah Snead and husband, Ricky of Laurinburg; a sister Ailene English of McColl, SC; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday June 3, 2008 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
