Mary Elizabeth Workman Raver, age 89, of Gibson, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at her residence.

Services are private.

Mary was born on October 19, 1936, in Raleigh, North Carolina and she was the daughter of the late Mattie and Richard Thomas Workman. Mary was a lifelong United Methodist. She was a choir director, organist, and choir member. She was a longtime piano teacher in the Cary- Apex area.

She is survived by her children, Duane Raver (Cathy), Diane Braswell (Chip), and Jean Raver; grandchildren, Melissa Travers (Kevin), Lewis Braswell (Izah), and Shelby Growe (Anthony); great grandchildren, Maxton, Finley, Leo, and Lander; brother, Richard Workman; niece, Jean Travers; and nephew, Mark Workman.

She is preceded in death along with her parents; by her husband, Duane Raver.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations may be made to the Carolina Hearts Home Care, 1025 S. Main St. Laurinburg, NC 28352.
