Mary Elizabeth (Quallen) Willenburg

On October 11, 2018, Mary E. Quallen Willenburg, 95, of Laurinburg, went peacefully at home surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.

A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, officiated by Pastor Joe Barnhill. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Born August 3, 1923 in Highland County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Francis Schuler Quallen. During her lifetime, she loved to do gardening, sewing, bird watching and cooking. Most of all she loved to spend time with her large family. To her that was her greatest accomplishment. You could describe her as having lived a humble life.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Willenburg (Esther) of TN, Frank Willenburg and Anthony W. Willenburg, both of FL, John Willenburg (Debbie) and Ralph Willenburg, all of NC; daughters, Cecilia Thomas (Roger), Elizabeth Lampley and Teresa Russell all of NC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Willenburg.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
