Mary Louise Nichols, 93, formerly of Rockingham died Friday, January 24, 2014, at her home.

A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Richmond Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III.

She is survived by her brother, Charlie (Faye) Nichols of Laurinburg; her sister, O'Nell Young of Hartsville, SC; her sister-in-law, Ila Nichols of Lincolnton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Nichols, and nephews, Larry Nichols and Joseph Nichols.

Born April 10, 1920 in Union County, she was a daughter of the Late William Oscar Nichols, Jr. and Janie Jolly Nichols. She attended Coker College. She retired after many years as the assistant Clerk of Superior Court in Richmond County.

Prior to moving to Laurinburg in 2005, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockingham, and later attended the First Baptist Church in Laurinburg. She was a special aunt to eight nephews and a niece who was her special companion and caregiver for eight years.
