Mary Ann Mcgirt

Mary Ann McGirt, 88, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Scotia Village.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Scott Miller.  Due to COVID-19, please practice social distancing.

Born, July 20, 1933 in Robeson County, she was a daughter of the late Archie Duncan and Alma McCormick McGirt.  She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work.  She taught school for a while and worked in a Taiwan hospital for six years.  She retired from Cape Fear Valley Hospital where she served as a Social Worker.

She is survived by her sisters, Virginia McGirt and Peggy McGirt, both of Laurinburg.
