Mary Lewis Kirby

Mrs. Mary L. Kirby, 71, of 606 Duncan Street died Tuesday, February 23, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00PM in the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with Revs. Legrande Taylor and Lloyd King officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.
Born October 7, 1927 in Richmond County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rebecca Ward Lewis. Her husband Boyce E. Kirby, Sr. preceded her in death.
For the past 30 years Mrs. Kirby enjoyed life as a homemaker, prior to which she worked for Aleo Manufacturing of Rockingham for many years. A member of the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church she belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary and the Adult Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son, Boyce E. Kirby, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Barbara Gibson of Laurel Hill and Cynthia House of Kenly; a brother, Albert Lewis of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Mildred Todd and Velu Dobbins both of Rockingham. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive her.
The family will be receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
