Miss Mary Norman Hayes, 79, of 20186 Old Maxton Road,died Monday, October 29.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

She is survived by one sister Helen H. Hill of Laurel Hill; two nephews, Rev. Dan Hill of Creedmore and Rufus Hugh Hill of Maxton; one niece, Freida Greenfield of Baltimore, MD.

Born June 24, 1922 in Robeson County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Foster and Winora McCormick Hayes. She was a graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA and taught school in Ellerbe, NC for 37 years before retirement in 1984. She was a bus driver for the Scotland County Schools for 13 years.
