Mary Coleman Dozier

Mary Coleman Dozier, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Dr. Thomas Marshall. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wallace of Laurinburg; her son, Bobby Dozier (Joan) of Spring Hope; her brother, Sammy Coleman (Patty) of Marion, SC; her daughter-in-law, Harriet Dozier of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Billy Hardy (Susan) of Laurinburg; Rob Dozier of Swansboro, Cindy Joyner (Dean) of Spring Hole, Pat Dozier of Wilmington, Kevin Dozier (Sarah) of Raleigh, Alyson Dozier of Charlotte, Ashley Dozier of Chapel Hill, and Paul Dozier of Lake Norman; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Parham Dozier; her son, Johnnie Patrick Dozier.
Born May 9, 1921 in Marion, SC, she was a daughter of the late Starr and Ruth Atkinson Coleman. On June 19, 1937 she married Johnnie Dozier.
For many years she was the assistant manager at Sears and later served as the bookkeeper at Luter Packing Company.
Mary loved watching UNC Basketball, going deep sea fishing, and traveling. Her destinations included Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Russia, but her favorite was spending time at Ocean Isle Beach.
Mary loved her grandchildren and especially loved cooking for them.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
