Mrs. Mary Ella Crowell, 89, of 1904 Sherbrooke, died Sunday, October 8, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nick Mager and Rev. Elizabeth Forester officiating.
Born in Greenville on June 10, 1911, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Mary Ella Smith Mason and wife of the late Ben Crowell. She was a past member of the Pilot Club in Asheboro and she retired after 39 years in the Billing and Accounting Department of Randolph Electric Membership Corporation.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Hal and Frances Jernigan of Laurinburg, three grandchildren; Neal Jernigan of Atlanta, GA, Cindy and husband Peary Coughenhour of Cary, Susan and husband Paul Harris of Taylor, SC, six great grandchildren; Tiffany, Patrick, Matthew, Ashley, Preston and Tyler.
The family will receive friends Monday (tonight) from 7 to 8 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
