Mrs. Martha Jones Pratt, 92, of Scotia Village, 2200 Elm Avenue died Monday, October 17, at her residence.

A private service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by two sons, Lindsay Pratt, Jr. and wife, Gabrielle of Pinehurst and John Pratt and wife, Dana of Santa Fe, NM; four grandchildren, Lindsay Page Pratt, III and wife, Addie of Laurinburg, Jennifer Pratt of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mary Feldmeyer and husband, Aaron of Tampa, FL and John Charles Pratt, Jr. of Boulder, CO. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Anderson Jones and two sisters, Marion Jones Reaves and Louise Jones Covington.

Born July 30, 1913 in York County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Anderson and Janie Hand Jones and widow of the late Lindsay Page Pratt, Sr. Mrs. Pratt was a graduate of Lees McRae College. She was a member of Stewartsville Baptist Church and a former member of the Madison Ave. Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC where she worked extensively with the youth. Mrs. Pratt was a member of the Wagram ECA (formerly known as Homemakers) and received the NC Volunteer of the Year Award for her work in getting the eye transplant bill passed through the state legislature. She worked as the office manager of the Tuscarora Council of Boy Scouts in Goldsboro, NC and as the secretary-treasurer of Reaves Engraving. After her retirement she and her husband were among the first residents of Scotia Village.
