Mrs. Martha Morrison McDonald, 89, died Sunday, April 29, at Scotia Village.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery between Clio and Little Rock. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter and the Rev. Elizabeth Forester.
She is survived by a daughter, Nan Turner of Laurinburg; two grandchildren, Meredith Bounds and husband, Brian of Laurinburg; a grandson, Mac Turner and wife, Sarah who are presently serving as missionaries in Central Asia; two great grandchildren, Caroline Bounds and Turner Bounds of Laurinburg.
Born December 28, 1917 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late James Causer and Kate Wright Morrison and widow of the late Grover McDonald, Jr. Martha taught public schools for 40 years, beginning in Snow Hill and retiring as a 6th grade teacher at Central School in Laurinburg. She held honorary life member of the Women of the Church, was a former elder, and taught and played piano for the "3-M" Sunday School Class at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
