Marie King Ferrene peacefully passed away January 5, 2015 in Warsaw, NC in the presence of her daughter, Linda F. Kitchin. She was born February 3, 1915, in Luverne, Alabama where she married her late husband, Otto W. Ferrene, who passed away December 17, 1995.
She lived many years in Maxton, NC where she maintained a home from 1932 until 1997 when she moved to Warsaw where her daughter lives. She was active in the Maxton First Presbyterian Church for all of her Maxton years.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Maxton officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robert Dendy with a reception following the service in the church.
Prior to the service she will be buried beside her husband in Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton.
She is survived by her son, Otto W. Ferrene, Jr. of Hilton Head Island, SC; her grandson, Otto W. Ferrene, III and his children, Victoria Ferrene and Christian Ferrene of Valencia, CA; her grandson, W. Welborn Ferrene and his children, Luke Ferrene and Tema Jade Ferrene of Pacific Palisades, CA; her daughter, Linda F Kitchin of Warsaw; her grandson, Lawton (Kit) Kitchin of Laceys Spring, AL and his children David Kitchin, John Lawton Kitchin, and Jacob Andrew Kitchin; her granddaughter, Noelle K. Tucker and her children, Marie Ann Garner and Stella-Jean Tucker of Belvoir, NC.
