Marie Boyer Dunham, 48, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel.

Along with her parents, Marie is survived by her son, Douglas Dunham of Laurinburg; her daughter, Paris Dunham of Sanford; and sister, Cynthia "Cindy" August of Laurel Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Debra Boyer Stubbs.

Born May 23, 1967 in Laurinburg, she was a daughter of George E. and Geneva Priest Boyer. She was a Colt cheerleader for the summer football little league; a member of the Scotland HS Singers and Swingers; traveled to Germany and spent 3 years in Hawaii. She authored the book, Summer Winds. She enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos play football, national politics and was working on her second novel.

Three of her childhood friends visited her in the hospital; Maxine Locklear Thompson of Washington D.C., Kimberly Moore of Bradenton, FL, and Tammy McDonald Odom of Laurinburg.


McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
