Mrs. Maria Magdalena Apit Waters, 40 of Greenway Circle died Friday, December 23, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neil Carter and Rev. Elizabeth Forester. Burial will be 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Waters, of the home; one daughter Apita Waters of the home; her mother, Fructaosa Apit of Lapu, Phillipines; two brothers, Bobot Apit and Avel Apit of the Phillipines; two sisters, Christy and 'Lebeth of the Phillipines.
Maria was born July 22, 1965 in Buhol, Phillipines. She worked as a clerk at the Scotland Correctional Facility and was a member of Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday and again 2-4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
