Margaret M. Stewart

Margaret Blue McKinnon Stewart, 77, of Wagram, died on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Wake Medical Raleigh Campus.

Born October 8, 1941 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Martin Thomas and Margaret Blue McKinnon. Margaret mentored countless students during her many years teaching English and Publications at Scotland High School, East Laurinburg Alternative School and the Learning Center at Flora McDonald Academy. She enjoyed writing, gardening, cooking, cheering the Miami Hurricanes and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Paschal Stewart, Jr. She is survived by her son, William Paschal Stewart III (Carol) of Winston Salem; daughter, Megan Stewart Walter (Jon) of Wake Forest; brother, Thomas McKinnon (Sharon) of Laurinburg; and four grandchildren, Adair Stewart, McKinnon Stewart, Stewart Walter, and Mason Blue Walter.

A visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
