Mrs. Margaret Peele Mitchell, 96, died Saturday, January 13, at Scotia Village.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Stan Smith and the Rev. John Cottingham.
She is survived by a son, John E. Mitchell, Jr. and wife, Elaine of Snellville, GA; a daughter, Margaret M. Baker and husband, Jack of Laurinburg; three granddaughters, Sharon Bennington and husband, David, Renee Mitchell, and Ruth Lytch and husband, Keith; a great granddaughter, Maggie Lytch and a great grandson, Bryce Lytch.
Born May 11, 1910 in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late George R. and Lina Margaret Adams Peele. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John E. Mitchell in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Chad Mitchell; brothers, Buford Peele, Merritt Peele, Carl Peele, Shuler Peele, and Everett Peele; and sisters, Essie Ingram and Bessie Freeman.
Margaret was employed in the ladies ready to wear department of McNaira
