Mrs. Margaret Dorsey Connally, 90, of Scotia Village died Wednesday, May 23, at Scotia Village.


Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Jerry Lowry. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.


She is survived by a daughter, Glynn Petree of Louisville, KY, a step-daughter, Carol Biggs of Laurinburg; two grandchildren, Margie Petree and Michael Petree of Louisville, KY.


Born February 15, 1911 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Augustus John and Mayme Louise Beacham Dorsey and widow of the late George Connally.


Margaret was a retired public health nurse with the Scotland County Health Department. She was also a member of the Advisory Board of the Scotland County Health Department.


Active in community affairs, Margaret was a member of the Growing Friendships, the Silver Scots at Central School, and was a charter member of the Laurinburg Pilot Club. An active member of the First United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the JOY Club.


For many years she was a major organizer of the annual Beacham Family Reunion and will be remembered for her wisdom and knowledge, not only of her large family, but also of her friends.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
