Madalene Bullard Brady Stone, 91, died Sunday, November 23, 2014.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, at the First Baptist Church. A committal service in Bassett, Virginia preceded the service.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Brady of Greensboro, Bob Brady (Audy) of Raleigh, and Jud Brady (Sandy) of Laurinburg; her brother, Bill Bullard (Bea) of Laurinburg; and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. D. Stone and her brother, J. D. Bullard, Jr.
Born February 26, 1923 in Laurinburg, she was a daughter of the late J. D. and Bessie Prevatte Bullard. During World War II she served as a WAVE and later served in Washington, DC with the Naval Department. Returning to Laurinburg she served as Halbert Jones' executive secretary with Waverly Mills.
