Mack G. Buie, Jr. of Troy passed away peacefully at his home on August 19, 2026.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Troy, officiated by Pastor Nick Allen. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall prior to the service in the church.

Born June 15, 1951, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Mack G. and Mary Ann Parks Buie. Mack was a 1969 graduate of West Montgomery High School and attended Appalachian State University. He loved to hunt and fish.

Mackie was a member of the Montgomery County Rescue Squad for 50 years. He taught EMT classes at Montgomery Community College and GED classes at Southern Correctional Institution. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy and served as a deacon and Sunday School Secretary for many years. Mackie was also co-owner of Price Davis, Inc., a convenient store and fast-food equipment company. Mackie previously had worked for Quik Chek, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Buffa Crook Buie of the home; son, Brandon Buie (Marty) of Mt. Gilead and their children, Annabella, Maya, and Neena; daughter, Allison Buie Walker of Pinehurst and her children, Hayden and Jack; sister, Cynthia Holt of Troy; and brother, Benjy Buie (Kaye) of Laurinburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care, 960 North 1st St., Albemarle, NC 28001-3350.
