Wagram
Lynn Calhoun Shaw, 79, passed away Saturday, February 6, at her home after a two month illness.
A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Montpelier Presbyterian Church fellowship hall.
She is survived by her son, Neill Shaw (Marie) of Wagram, her daughter, Lyle C. Shaw of Wagram, and her grandson, Daniel Shaw of Wagram.
Born August 14, 1936 in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late James Malcolm and Sarah McCall Calhoun and widow of the late Daniel Neill Shaw. She is a graduate of Peace College and served as a teacher's assistant and substitute teacher for the Scotland County Schools. Most of her years of service were at North Laurinburg School where her students affectionately knew her as "Mama Shaw."
Lynn was an active member of Montpelier Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, a Moderator of the Women of the Church, the secretary and historian, a Sunday school teacher, and an Enabler for the Presbytery.
Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, needlework, growing plants and flowers, and tending to her yard.
