Lynn Tatum "Mac" McCormick, Jr.
Gibson, NC
Mr. Lynn Tatum "Mac" McCormick, Jr., 63, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 4, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Quinton Covington. Burial will follow in the McCormick Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Gaye McCormick; a brother, William A. McCormick and wife, Dorothy of Wilmington; step children, Barry Douglas Adkins and wife Evelyn of Canton; Veronica "Vickie" Lee Locklear and husband, Gerald of Gibson, grandchildren, Heather, Christa, Stephen, and Marcia Adkins, Stephen and Melissa Locklear; nephew, Keith A. McCormick and wife Debra of Wilmington.
Born January 19, 1941 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Lynn T. and Ruby Evans McCormick. Mac graduated from New Hanover High School and attended Wilmington College before volunteering for the US Navy where he served four years aboard the USS Hampton as a signalman. He later worked for Piedmont Airlines and retired from Libby-Owens-Ford Glass Co. in 1992.
Mac was a past officer and active member of the Lumberton Kennel Club, a member of the Family Motor Coach Association, DIFF Bass Club, and the Carolina Road Riders Motorcycle Club.
