Mrs. Lucy Lee Gold McMillan, 79, of Scotia Village died Sunday, November 4, at Scotia Village.


Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Revs. Nick Mager and Elizabeth Forester. Burial will follow in McNeill Cemetery.


She is survived by three sons, Dan McMillan and wife, Peggy of Augusta, GA, Bill McMillan and wife, Sandy of Cary, and Bert McMillan of Laurel Hill; a daughter, Sally Adams and husband, Glenn of Cary; a sister, Charlene Gold of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jeff McMillan and wife, Allison, Mark McMillan, Jessica McMillan, Billy McMillan, Beth Adams, and Pennington Adams; great grandchildren, Josh and Holly McMillan. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 year, Hector McMillan, her brothers, Walter Gold and Guy Gold; her sisters, Blanche Gold Begendorf and Helen Gold Casserly.


Born March 11, 1922 in Cleveland County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Sally Grigg Gold. She was a former secretary for Laurinburg Presbyterian Church and the Scotland County United Way. Lucy was also a former deacon and elder of the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, a former volunteer for Hospice of Scotland County, and an Honorary Life member of the Women of the Church.
