Louise Wiles Bingham, 88, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Morrison Manor.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Church in the Pines in Laurel Hill, NC, officiated by the Rev. Sandy Williams.  Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” W. Bingham of Vero Beach, FL.; her sons, Stearns Bingham (Mary Anna) of Charlotte and Richard Bingham (Maria) of Laurinburg; three grandchildren, Daniel Bingham (Jennifer), Jordan Bingham and Hannah Bingham. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Glenn Stearns Bingham.

Born July 14, 1928 in Calhoun County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Myrtle Hair Wiles. She grew up in Raleigh and attended Peace College.

A longtime, dedicated member of Church in the Pines, Louise also served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years.  She was known to many as “Weezie”,  a lovely, funloving lady who always had a smile and adored her family and many friends. She and Glenn enjoyed traveling after retirement and  loved music and dancing, from jazz to beach music. Her many hobbies included gardening, sewing and needle crafting, playing bridge, and most of all, bird watching. Her grandchildren brought her much joy.
