Lorraine Frances Knox Taylor went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.
She was born on October 31, 1926 to Leonard Lafayette Knox and Elmire Arsenault Knox in Salisbury Plains, Massachusetts. She was the fourth of five children, Buddy, Margaret, Dolly and later Bobby. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Grover Harrison Taylor and her daughter, Emily Jean Taylor and siblings, Buddy Knox, Margaret Lynch and Bobby Knox.
She is survived by three children, Timmy & Vickie Taylor, Sue and Wayne Porter, Liza and Michael Marler and her grandchildren, Melissa & Jimbo Dickerson, Max & Emily Porter, Timeri & Art Walters, Vickie Lynn & Aaron Gainey, Emily & Donnie Tilghman and Taylor Marler. Her great-grandchildren are Mark, Matt, & Madison Radford; Cassie, Jordan and AJ Dickerson; Jonathan & Justin Walters; Erin & Vali Gainey; Anna Porter; Faith & Trey Tilghman. She is also survived by one sister, Dolly Williamson and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Lorraine worked at Ingram Watch Plant and was a homemaker. She also worked with the Census Bureau, Scotland County Polling and was a strong supporter of the Democratic Party. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Lorraine will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 800 South Main, Laurinburg, NC. Father JaVon Saxon will officiate.
Visitation will be held at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium on Thursday, August from 6-8pm.
