Lonnie D. Strickland, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday at Abundant Life Center. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Marie Fields Strickland; daughters, Elaine Marley (William) of Hamlet, and Donna Davis (John) of Travelers Rest, SC; son, Charles Smith, Jr. of Rockingham; sister, Betty Ann Parks of Hamlet; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was retired from the textile industry and enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, and watching the Andy Griffith Show.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the church.
