Linda Jean Lett, age 82, passed away Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at Scotland Regional Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 18th, 2024, at Hillside Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Tim Hodge and Rev. Hezekiah Hardee.
Born on October 24th, 1942, in Anson County, she was the daughter of the late Early Green Lett and Cassie Morton Lett.
Linda, more often referred to as Byrd, a nickname given to her by her grandchildren, will forever be remembered for her kindness, friendliness, and her uncanny ability to lift spirits. She had a gentle talent of ensuring that everyone around her always felt welcomed and valued.
Linda loved flowers. A wild bunch of white petunias grew beside her front porch, and she often stated that they were given to her by God. On any given day, Linda could be found sitting on the porch watching her beloved animals play, picking up pecans, listening to John Hagee, or watching Fox News.
Above all, Linda treasured her family. Spending time with her brother was a part of her daily routine, and her home was a revolving door for her two daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who regularly came by to bring food, share an accomplishment, or just sit and visit for a while. More than a grandmother, she welcomed the younger generations with open arms and unwavering love. Each family member was a precious part of Linda’s heart.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Jordan (Richard) of Wallace, SC, and Terri Davidson (HT) of Rockingham, NC; her brothers Rick Lett and Pete Lett; her grandchildren, Ira Edge (Tanya) of Laurel Hill, NC, Johnathan Edge of the home, and Kaylan Ganus of Wilmington, NC; her step-grandchildren, Eric Jordan and Channing Jordan; her great-grandchildren, Lindsey Edge and Ari Soto-Perez; and her step-great-grandchildren, Cora Jordan and Bradley Jordan. She is preceded in death by her child, John Barfield, and her brothers, Stacey Lett, Dennis Lett, and Bob Lett.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the charity of choice.
Bumgarner Family Funeral Service is assisting the Lett family.
