With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Irene Shepherd Gobrish, who went to her eternal home on February 11, 2024, at the age of 63. She was born on February 3, 1961, to Charlie Ray and Bessie Irene Ridenhour Shepherd, and her life was a testament to love, compassion, and strength.
Linda was a cherished wife, a devoted mother, a beloved sister, and a loyal friend. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone she encountered with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity. Her gentle spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to countless lives, and her legacy of love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She had a passion for animals, and she poured her heart into everything she pursued. Whether she was spending time with family or her friends at the Troy Montgomery Senior Center, Linda approached each day with grace and determination.
In addition to her loving nature, Linda possessed a remarkable strength of character that served as an inspiration to all who knew her. Even in the face of her health, she remained resilient, facing challenges with courage and perseverance. Her unwavering faith and optimism illuminated the darkest of days, reminding us all of the power of hope and courage.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to guide and inspire us all. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear and the lessons she imparted. Linda will be deeply missed by her son, Joey Gobrish (Laura Jordan); stepson, Ben Tate (Deb Tate); her brothers John Shepherd (Abbie Linker) and Junior Shepherd (Kim Shepherd); many nieces and nephews; her companion with paws, Hercules; and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Troy Montgomery Senior Center, 200 Park Rd., Troy, NC, 27371, in honor of Linda's memory.
As we mourn the loss of Linda Gobrish, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be eternally remembered.
