Lilly "Laney" Lane Lassiter

Lilly “Laney” Lane Lassiter, 87, of Troy passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Hancox. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery in Troy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

Born July 17, 1935, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Pat Smith Deberry. Laney, along with her late husband, were former co-owners of the Better Burger in Troy. She loved spending time with her family and people coming by to visit her. Laney enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets.

She is survived by her sons, Perry Lassiter, Jerry Lassiter, both of Troy, and Jeff Lassiter of Mt. Gilead; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin James Lassiter; brothers, Vernon “Pig” Deberry and Wesley Deberry; and sisters, Lillian Mathis, and Edna Burrow.
