Lila Jane Wyatt Young

Mrs. Lila Jane Wyatt Young, 83 of 63 Ninth Street, East Laurinburg left us to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 20, 2005. She was surrounded by her children and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Revs. Michael Price and Legrande Taylor. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Cricket) Butler of Laurinburg; two sons, Roy Young and wife, Madeline of Laurinburg and Terry Young and wife, Danelia of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Ossie Ellis of Clayton and Lillian Shinbaran of Smithfield; seven grandchildren, Phil Butler and wife, Jackie of Laurinburg, Robin Thompson and husband, Vince of Laurinburg, Dawn Morton of Anderson, SC, Mitchell Young of Hoffman, Shannon and Amber Young of Rock Hill, SC; eleven great-grandchildren; Randi and Shane Butler, Krista and Aral Thompson of Laurinburg, Thad and Ronnie Young of Asheboro, Dustin and Dillon Morton of Anderson, SC, Shelly, Kelly, and Garrett Young of Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Young, a grandson, Jamie Butler, a brother, Chester Wyatt, and two sisters, Pauline Blackmon and Rosie Gerald.
Mrs. Young was a life long resident of Scotland County where she was a textile worker and later retired from Ingraham. She attended the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a faithful supporter.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
