Leroy Poole, 83, a long- time resident of Stanfield in Stanly County, but passed away peacefully Sunday, October 25, 2026 at his daughter and son- in- law’s home in Stuart, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 130 Cedar Grove Rd., Polkton, NC 28135, officiated by Rev. Mark Swarringer. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.

Born September 13, 1943, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Ira Lindle and Rebecca Long Poole. Leroy enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and was a devoted husband. Leroy was a very generous person, and had the highest work ethic He enjoyed cutting grass for the elderly who could no longer do it themselves.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Poplin (Wayne) of Stuart, VA, Debra Bowman (Jimmy), Donna Reynolds (Billy), and Rhonda Poole; son, Robert Braswell of Waxhaw; grandchildren, Susan Bowman, Rachael Reynolds, Jessica Roberts (Scott) of Stanfield, and Baxlie Keziah (Will) of Albemarle; great-grandchildren, Mason and Ave; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara C. Poole and numerous brothers and sisters.
