Mrs. Leola Evans Stephens, 86, of 2466 Hwy 71 East died Friday, March 16, at the Edwin Morgan Center.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Centre Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Henrietta Carmichael. Burial will follow in the Centre Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, J. Carl Stephens; a son, Dr. John Carl Stephens, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, of Greenville, AL; two daughters, Carol S. Butler and husband, Leon, of Laurel Hill and Harriett Horn and husband, William, of Maxton; two brothers, Warren Evans of Laurinburg and Gene Evans of Zionsville, IN; five grandchilder, Jason Butler of Laurel Hill, Andrew Butler and Stephen Horne of Charlotte, Angie Buramy of Onalaska, WI, and Kim Foard of Maxton.
Born March 9, 1915 in Laurinburg, she was a daughter of the late Elmore H. and Icelene Hudson Evans. She was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church.
