Mr. L. J. Smith, 75, died Thursday, June 21, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Huckabee Grove Emmanuel Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Larry Singletary. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
He is survived by a son, Chris Smith of Laurel Hill; two daughters, Mary Ann Smith Woodell and Brenda Sue Smith of Laurinburg; two brothers, George Smith of Laurel Hill and James Earl Smith of Laurinburg; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Born August 13, 1931 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late John Wesley and Laller Nichols Smith and widower of the late Mary Louise Smith. He was retired from Springs Mills and served with the National Guard.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
