Mrs. LaVerne Culbreth Rodgers, 72, lifelong resident of Laurinburg and McColl died Wednesday, March 5.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Revs. Donald Kennedy and Timothy Beddingfield. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery in McColl.
She is survived by three daughters, Jackie Kennedy and husband, Donald of Hodgenville, KY, Terena Taylor and husband, Charles of Laurinburg, and Pixie Henderson and husband, Marvin of St. Stephens, SC; a brother, Shepard Culbreth and wife, Tine of Holden Beach; a sister-in-law, Betty Culbreth of Laurinburg; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rodgers, her parents, Eldridge and Mamie Walters Culbreth, her brothers, Bill and Donald Culbreth, and her sister, Ruby McMillan.
LaVerne was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and was formerly employed by the A & P, and Commercial Café in Laurinburg. He later worked as a hostess for the Holiday Inn and Wal-Mart.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
