Mrs. Lavada Smith Jordan, 74, of 612 S. Main St. died Wednesday, August 30, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Richmond Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Ben Bishop.
Born October 7, 1925 in Richmond County, she was a daughter of the late Claude F. and Cassey Chrisco Smith. She was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in his veterinary practice. From 1949 until 1993 the Jordans were residents of Lexington.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. John A. Jordan; two sons, Allen Jordan of Pinehurst and Byron Jordan of West Jefferson; a daughter, Claudia Philpott of Atlanta; three brothers, Ralph Smith, Claude F. Smith, Jr. and Jimmy Smith of Marston; two sisters, Eloise Eatman of Raleigh and Juanita McNeill of Marston; four grandchildren.
