Mrs. Laura Beaver Peurifoy died peacefully on her 88th birthday while at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 15, 1919 in Concord to the late Cordie Jean Bost Beaver and John Luther Beaver.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond P. "Pat" Peurifoy; three daughters, Rebecca Jean Stearns and husband, Buck of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Mary Jane West and husband, Mike of Jamestown, Karen Elizabeth Chance and Jim of High Point; a son, Raymond Scott "Scotty" Peurifoy and wife, Rena of Chapin, SC; eight grandchildren, Laura Katharine Harah and husband, Dave of Pittsburgh, PA, David Patterson Stearns and wife, Lori of Fort Meade, MD, John Maxwell Stearns of North Myrtle Beach, Jennifer Ann Thomas and husband, Kirt of Stokesdale, Christopher Michael West of High Point, Rebecca Faith Chance of High Point, Kelly Lynn Peurifoy of Chapin, SC, and Andrew Scott Peurifoy of Chapin, SC; three great grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Harah and Nicholas Andrew Harah of Pittsburgh, PA, and Hunter Austin Thomas of Stokesdale, NC. She also is survived by a nephew, John Lee Beaver of Asheville, two step-grand nephews, Darrel Bost of Kannapolis and Lew Franklin Bost of Charlotte, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Hawell Beaver of Concord.
Laura was a member of the most noble profession in the world: "Homemaker." She was a lifetime Methodist and was a choir member in all three churches where she was a member. She also taught 3rd grade Sunday school, was a circle member, a Girl Scout leader, an American Red Cross volunteer, and a member of the Home Extension Club. Her hobbies a
