Lacy "Tommy" Thomas Callicutt

Lacy “Tommy” Thomas Callicutt, age 78, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Shirlen. Burial will follow at the Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.

Born December 2, 1943, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Lacy Lee and Exie Morton Callicutt. Tommy was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Troy and had been employed with Spring Industries for over forty-one years. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He enjoyed working with wood, being outdoors, and enjoyed going to car shows to see all the old cars.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janie Coleman Callicutt of the home; daughters, Sharon Callicutt Hurley (Ken) of Troy, Lisa Callicutt Cox (Tony) of Ellerbe, and Gina Callicutt Reid (Jay) of Seven Lakes; brothers, Bobby Callicutt of Troy, Jerry Wayne Callicutt of Albemarle, Donnie Callicutt of Biscoe and Terry Callicutt of Troy; sisters, Ann Royal of Troy and Phyllis Leonard of Farmer; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaylynne Poole.
