L. Winfred Beasley, 91, beloved husband and devoted father passed away Tuesday, April 23, at Morrison Manor.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel. Burial will military rites will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby Beasley of Lillington, Jimmy Beasley (Darlene) of Laurinburg, and Ronnie Beasley (Mirta) of Rocky Mount; his daughter, Janice Currie of Midlothian, VA; his sister, Dorothy McMillan of Laurinburg; his grandchildren, Roger and Allison Beasley, Michelle Powell, Lisa Hunt, Jenny Cox, and David Beasley; Craig, Chris and Chad Currie; 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth Edwards Beasley and his brother, Eugene Beasley.
Born December 10, 1921 in Robeson County, he was a son of the late Zeb B. and Helen Peele Beasley. He was a long time resident of Scotland County and retired after spending over 30 years working in the textile industry.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the US Army 287th Engineers Combat Battalion in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe receiving EAMET Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Victory Medal. He was a member of Stewartsville Baptist Church for many years and is currently a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
