Kenneth Dwayne Jacobs, Sr., known affectionately by friends and family as Kenny, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tracy Gross.
Born in Scotland County, on December 30, 1962, he was a son of the late Henry and Barbara Jacobs. Kenny's life was one marked by devotion, laughter, and a steadfast faith that touched all who knew him.
Kenny spent 43 years married to the love of his life, Janet Rex Jacobs, who was not only his partner but a true companion in every sense of the word. Kenny's family was the cornerstone of his life. His son, Ken and grandchildren, Summer and Kensey brought joy to his life in every moment he spent with them. He is also survived by his siblings, Patricia Ann Priest of Wagram, Donna L. Stephens of Raymond, OH, and Carolyn Sue Jones of Red Springs; his father-in-law Dennis Rex of the home; his daughter-in-law, Mary Jacobs of McColl, SC; cousins, Tammy Baldwin (Mike) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Charles Drennan of Hamlet; who shared in the journey of his life, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Kenny's presence will be greatly missed by his Calvary Baptist Church family, where he was not only a member but a spirited Song Leader. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life and the kindness he showed to everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In his professional life, Kenny was the proud owner of a Lance food route and a former employee of Cascades. His work ethic and dedication were exemplary, and his relationships with co-workers and customers alike were built on a foundation of respect and genuine care. Kenny's interests were a reflection of his joyful spirit and love for life. An avid fisherman, he cherished the special fishing trips with his son Ken and friends. Known to be quite the jokester, Kenny's sense of humor was a source of constant entertainment for his family and friends. His love for spending time with his family, his church, and reading God's word were the pillars of his daily life. Kenny's love for his wife, son, and grandchildren was unparalleled, and he often expressed this love through his actions and the time he dedicated to them. Described by those who knew him as funny, faith-filled, and handy, Kenny's ability to fix anything was matched only by his capacity to lift spirits with his humor. His was a life lived with purpose and joy, and his impact on those around him was profound. Kenny's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Lee Jacobs, and his parents, whose memory he honored through the way he lived his life. His fur baby, Tater, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends, will miss Kenny's laughter and wisdom.
We celebrate Kenny’s a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and a faith that never wavered. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Kenny's life was a beautiful melody of joy and devotion, and though his song on earth has ended, its echo will resonate for eternity.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church.
