Kenneth Bruce of Maxton was born August 29, 1945 in Robeson County to Java and Elizabeth Richardson Bruce. He was the youngest of ten children and boy was he spoiled. When Kenneth married Toni Breeden on June 12, 1965, he didn’t know what he was in for. Toni was also one of ten children so that made for one large family. Kenneth and Toni had two children, Liz and Chris and seven grandkids, Steven, Kelly, Brianna, Brent, Brett, Jessica and Kendan.
Kenneth loved fishing and hunting and collecting any and everything. Kenneth always had a green thumb and had such a beautiful garden that people would stop to take pictures.
Kenneth worked hard his entire life to provide for his family. He worked 25 years at J.P. Stevens and later worked 20 years at Maxton A.B.C. store. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone.
Kenneth always had a tale to tell whether you believed it or not and was a real prankster. He was a daredevil and if you ever rode with him you would know how he loved to scare people. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
