Kaylee Adale Chavis, October 15, 2021 – March 27, 2025

Kaylee Adale Chavis; was a sweet and loving child whose adventurous spirit and infectious joy touched all who knew her, passed away on March 27, 2025, at her home. Born on October 15, 2021, in Scotland County, she is the daughter of Perry Chavis and Amanda Russell, Kaylee's bright light shone brilliantly throughout her brief yet profoundly impactful three years of life.

From the moment she arrived in this world, Kaylee projected an unbridled enthusiasm for life. Her ability to learn her ABCs and count to 10 in a single day was a testament to her sharp mind and eagerness to explore the world around her. She found immense pleasure in the simplest of activities, whether it was playing outside in the dirt, bouncing high on the trampoline, loving on her dogs, or the sheer delight of jumping on her parents' backs and enveloping them in her tiny, loving embrace.

Kaylee's fearless nature and boundless energy led her to climb anything she could lay her hands on; she was not scared of anything. Indeed, she was a daredevil at heart, approaching each new adventure with courage and zest.

To describe Kaylee is to speak of love and adventure. These words capture her essence perfectly– a loving soul who embraced every new journey with open arms and a fearless heart. She was a child who lived each day to its fullest, leaving a legacy of joy and a reminder to cherish the precious, fleeting moments we have with one another.

Kaylee, affectionately known as Kaylee-Bug by her loved ones, was the cherished daughter of Perry Chavis and Amanda Russell. She was the adored little sister of Henry Allan Locklear, Diana Madison Locklear, and Payton Lynn Chavis who was also her best friend. Her maternal grandparents, Dale Russell and Judy Ann Priest Russell; her uncle Eric (Amanda) Russell, uncle Jerry (Savanna) Chavis, aunt Cassandra, aunt Mallory (David) and special aunt, Stephanie Woods, along with her God Mother Madison Heaton, were blessed to have shared in the joys of her early milestones and the warmth of her hugs. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tammi Chavis and Jeffrey Henderson, her maternal great-grandparents, Henry Everette Priest and Peggy Ann Denson Priest; her Uncle Ralph Chavis and her cousin, Ainiyan Locklear. Kaylee's memory will continue to be a guiding light for her family.

As we bid farewell to Kaylee Adale Chavis, we hold tight to the memories she gave us, the lessons of love and bravery she imparted, and the immeasurable impact she made in such a short time. Her spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and strength.
