Mrs. Kaye Davis Earley, 89, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at Commonwealth Senior Living, Virginia Beach, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Laurinburg with Reverend Jeanne Baucom officiating. The family will receive friends in the Church Sanctuary prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Hillside Memorial Park.
Kaye was born October 18, 1934, in Rutherford County, the daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth Clements Davis. In 1953, she married to love of her life, William "Bill" Earley and they moved to Laurinburg.
Kaye graduated from Lake Lure High School as Valedictorian and after moving to Laurinburg, she earned her Associate degree from Presbyterian Junior College (Flora McDonald). She spent 27 years in the Scotland County School system as a teacher's assistant in kindergarten and 1st grade at North Laurinburg School.
A woman of great faith, Kaye devoted much of her life in service to others. A member of the First Baptist Church, Laurinburg, she served as a deacon, was a founding member of the Couples Class, participated in WMU & the shut in ministry and assisted with Vacation Bible School.
Kaye enjoyed the fellowship of her friends and was a member of the local bridge club and her Tuesday Morning Breakfast group.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bill Earley, her sisters, Barbara Davis Lanford and Jean Hardin and her brother, Hal Davis.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Ehret and husband, Don of New Jersey, and Lisa Parker and husband, Lee of Virginia, grandchildren Andrew and Ashley Ehret of Florida, Rachel Ehret and Bill Emhof of New Jersey, Amanda and Zach Stromer of Massachusetts, James Ehret and Silvia Radulescu of New York and Taylor Parker of Virginia, a brother, Raymond Davis of Rutherfordton, brother in law, Hubert Hardin of Forest City, sisters, Carolyn Vess and husband, Harold of Asheville and Elsie Robinson of Old Fort, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
