Kaitlyn Paige (Jones) Schlichting

Kaitlyn Paige Schlichting, 25, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Troy Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Mark Atkins.  Kaitlyn’s body will lie in state on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance for visitation will be monitored and seating will be limited for the service. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.

Born August 19, 1995 in Stanly County, she was a daughter of Chris and Sandy Gunter Jones of Asheboro.  She was a 2013 graduate of West Montgomery High School and received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She attended Troy Wesleyan Church and was a Caregiver.  Kaitlyn was expecting her first child and was looking forward to being a Mom.  She was very crafty and loved working on arts and crafts.  Kaitlyn loved children and always put others before herself, especially her family.  She also participated in the Summer Reading Program at the library.

Along with her parents, Kaitlyn is survived by her husband, Jerry Schlichting of the home; her brothers, Nathan Jones and Devin Jones of Asheboro; her sisters, Taylor Jones and Allison Jones of Asheboro; her two half-sisters, Destiny Bowman and Jodi Bowman of Eden, NC; her maternal grandfather, Mark Gunter of Troy; paternal grandparents, Angelo and Ellen Kaifos of Asheboro; her father-in-law, Richard Schlichting of the home; and numerous cousins.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
