Judy (Rockwell) Ellis

Judy Rockwell Ellis, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Pastor Crystal Blue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private.

Born on February 27, 1945, in Columbus County, she was a daughter of the late Paul G. Rockwell and Elvia Formy-Duval Rockwell. Judy was a respected co-owner of Associated Realty, where she not only excelled in her career but also found great joy in working with people. She was a member of Church in the Pines and enjoyed being with her church family.

Judy's home was often the heart of family gatherings, especially during the holidays, where she showcased her cooking skills and the joy of hosting. Her grandchildren, in particular, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She is survived by daughter, Donna Lowery of Laurinburg; her granddaughters, Whitney Oberndorf (Eric) of Hayes, VA, and Nicki Udelhoven (Craig) of Summerfield, SC; great-grandchildren, Piper and Knox Oberndorf, Hunter, Delaney, Zadie, and Gemma Udelhoven, and her brother, Paul Rockwell (Judy) of Carolina Beach. Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Tommy Franklin Ellis; and her siblings, William, Robert, Kay and David G. Rockwell.
