She took care of her elderly parents as well as her widowed Uncle. She often invited people we barely knew as guests for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner because they didn't have family or friends to spend the holiday with
nearby. She loved cooking and baking winning 1st place blue ribbons at the fair for her biscuits and cakes.
She was an artistic person who loved to sing and dance, also writing a song that was published in 1953 called King of My Heart. She enjoyed drawing and arranging flowers, also taking courses in flower arranging and cake decorating. When her children were in school, she was active in her children's school as homeroom Mother and in the PTA.
