Mrs. Juanita Gentry Hagler, 83, of Old Johns Road died Tuesday, July 29 at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Maxton.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Cox and husband, George of Bald Head Island; Karen de la Paz of Southport, and Anita Hagler and partner, Debra Cranford of Laurinburg; son, Bryan Hagler and wife, Janet of Laurinburg; two brothers, Hansford Gentry of Laurinburg and Bill Gentry of Vass; three sisters, Mary Ann Lutrell of Florida, Rose Alice Robinson of Greensboro, and Joyce Gibson of Laurinburg; five grandchildren, Robin Barnhill, Brennan Barnhill, Jennifer de la Paz, Amanda Hagler, and Andrew Hagler; two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis Gentry, Basil Gentry, and Paul Gentry.
Born June 15, 1925 in Person County, she was a daughter of the late Talmage W. and Beatrice Strum Gentry and widow of the late J. D. Hagler.. She was retired as the executive secretary for Maxton Oil and Fertilizer. Juanita was also a former member of the Maxton School Board and was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she served as a church secretary, circle member, and was in the United Methodist Women.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and in the church fellowship hall following the service.
