Joyce (Benoist) Covington

Joyce Benoist Covington passed away at the age of 93 on Friday, October 21st, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Church in the Pines, officiated by Pastor Crystal Blue.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

She was born in Richmond County, North Carolina on May 16th, 1929, the daughter of Leroy Benoist and Grace Boone Benoist. She was a retired homemaker who also worked many years at Laurel Hill Presbyterian Day Care Center.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Sam Covington; daughter, Wendy Moore; and brother, Roy Benoist.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie Chavis (Al Layton) of Sanford, Cindy Fournier (Wayne) of Garner, and Beth Covington of Jackson, Michigan; along with ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
